The 99 Santa Clara Sporting girls rebounded from a disappointing end to Far West Regionals in the quarter finals and won the Davis Legacy Showcase on July 12, 2015. They were up against strong competition from Northern California teams, but pulled out a 4-3 victory over Palo Alto Blue in the championship game.
Next stop for the girls is Surf Cup July 25-27th, 2015. They hope you can stop in and see them play there.
The Sporting 99 girls defended their position as Sporting Girls Invitational Champions for the third year in a row. They played five strong teams over Memorial Day weekend without a goal scored against them. The final game against rivals Central Valley Crossfire Red ended in a score of 2-0.
A link to the Sporting Girls Invitational has been attached in the blog roll on the right side of the page. The Sporting Green girls will be playing in the U15 Bracket A at the Morgan Hill Soccer Complex on the artificial turf soccer field. They play Saturday at 8:00am against Nevada Pride, and again at 12:30pm against North Bay Elite Barcelona. On Sunday they finish out the round robin with a game against CV Crossfire White at 8:00am. If they move on, the semi finals will be at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, and Finals move up to Santa Clara Soccer Complex on Monday at 3:00pm.
Two weeks after being named the CYSA Cal North State Cup champions for a second year in a row, the girls also successfully defended their title in NorCal Premier State Cup in Sacramento. Two state cups for two years in a row! They hope to keep up the momentum this coming weekend at the Sporting Girls Invitational where they are working towards a three-pete.
After only a couple of practices to work out the bugs from their high school season, the girls pulled it together to win the Spring Showcase, solidifying their position as the top team in Northern California. This was the first of three weeks of showcase events for the girls. Schedules are out for the NorCal NPL Spring Showcase hosted in Davis on March 14, 15 and then on to the Las Vegas Players Showcase March 20-22 for some national competition. We hope you can come see a game, check our calendar for schedules.
The 99 Santa Clara Sporting girls beat out the top ranked U15 girls team from Southern California to bring home the cup over Thanksgiving weekend in a 2-0 shutout. The win solidified the teams Diamond ranking in Got Soccer before the high school season break that follows.
